Ten in a Bed

Ten in a Bed Story Line

Belinda (aged about twelve) does not want to go to bed. It’s a lovely night and she is wide awake. The Night people appear in her room, coming from the stars and carrying big round moon shape lanterns. They soothe Belinda to sleep – but then comes a knock at the door. It is Little Bear, the youngest of the Three Bears, who has lost his Mummy and Daddy in the forest. He’s very tired so Belinda tells him to hop into bed, they will look for his Mummy in the morning. As night wears on more and more characters knock on Belinda’s door. Soon her bed is full of Jack and Jill, Red Riding Hood and the Wolf, and other magic folk, until ten are sharing one big bed. As they sing their song one by one they jump and roll out of bed, and in the end the only person left is Little Bear, who settles down for the night with the big bed all to himself.
