The Kings of Temple Midden

The Story Line:
Seventy years in the future, a group of under fives are driven out of London in a bus – as far and as fast as possible in their nursery mini bus, – to escape the London Flood. They are dumped in a decaying old manor house in a midland village called Temple Midden, care of an old man who had once served the manor and the local estate. The play starts when the group of boys and girls, still in the care of old man Willum, in eleven years have dwindled from fourteen in number to nine, and – “only nine”. The play describes the environment they live in – how they look at the past and struggle to conceive of their future – if they have one.

The Kings of Temple Midden was written for a group of fourteen plus teenagers, with some growing experience in performance, and a desire and need to attempt something right for their age group, and new.
